News: Big plans ahead for ComicScene Magazine in 2020
As well as giving you the best of indie and small press comics here at Pipedream Comics, we are also part of the team who produce the UK’s best comics magazine ComicScene, and so we have a fantastic look ahead to what’s in store for 2020.
After an amazing 2019 which saw them debut on newstands across the UK and Ireland, things are set to get even bigger and better as Editor Tony Foster explains:
“This year ComicScene made it to newsstands across the U.K and Ireland. We now promote comics in Australia, Canada and the USA. We brought comic creators onto the newsstands by expanding our comic strip content. We launched a pull out kids comic to encourage new comic readers. We added extra pages for the same price and maintained our coverage of classic and new comics. We started a Podcast and maintained our website and social media channels. Finally we launched the ComicScene Awards to celebrate the comic industry.
But that’s not all, Tony explains: “We have also refreshed our online shop to suit any budget. And everyone subscribing for four issues or more in print or digital will also get a little bit extra. Each issue we are unable to include everything within 80 pages. So we are including something extra for all our subscribers. ComicScene+, the Voice of the Comic Industry, will be a completely free digital supplement to ComicScene with extra news, features, articles, exclusives, strip previews and a Comic Creators Directory.”
