Kickstarters We Love: Don’t Go Without Me
This new collection of 3 short stories from rising star Rosemary Valerio O’Connell looks set to be something very special indeed. This collection sees publisher ShortBox bring together two new stories – Don’t Go Without Me,’ and ‘Con Temor, Con Ternura’ (With Fear, With Tenderness – alongside a reprint of the Eisner nominated mini comic ‘What Is Left.’.
The three stories are about: two lovers who sneak out for a night on the town, a malfunctioning ship that runs on memories and the residents of a sleepy seaside town who live in the shadow of a giant. That’s quite the range of genres and styles and based on those synopses it feels like it could be a really imaginative and unconventional read. The artwork is a sublime mix of Tillie Walden-esque fantasy, but with a kind of Terry Moore like detail and expressiveness to it. Add to this a level of production which, if you saw this book was released by Image Comics, then you would not be at all surprised.
The campaign is an ambitious one, looking to print 10,000 copies of the book, but from checking out the images on the campaign page, this likes it could be something really unique and is well worth getting on board with now!
