What a weekend! And What a great venue too! A comic con within spitting distance of Brighton beach! After a rather chilling week, it was nice to see the sun coming out in all its glory especially for this first-time show on the south coast as our roving reporter (and panel moderator extraordinaire) Olly MacNamee packs his bags and heads for ICE Brighton

Now in it’s 6th year, the East London Comics Arts Festival (better known as ELCAF) is one of the premier events for small press comics and zines in the UK. Founded by the wonderful Nobrow Press in 2012 it is a three day celebration of the artier end of the comics spectrum and features a whos who of indie small press creators alongside the a selection of the most exciting up and coming new artist and illustrators looking to break into this wonderful scene.

This year’s Comic Con essential event is the ‘Summer Variant’ – there’s True Believers’ in August, but first it’s the turn of the International Comic Expo (ICE) and their Brighton event on June 10th. So if you’re heading to the coast that weekend and fancy heading to a convention featuring some of the biggest names in British comics alongside a plethora of indie and small press stars then be sure to pop along to ICE Brighton – Summer Special

When it comes to Comic Conventions loaded with small press talent, then there are few with a guest list that can rival this year’s Nottingham Comic Convention. Having established a reputation as one of the best small press friendly conventions on the scene, Kev Brett’s fantastic event returns of the Nottingham Conference Centre on October 14th, we take a look at what’s in store for the day!

This year’s True Believers has been one of our favourite conventions of the year so far, and so we were delighted to learn that Stuart and co were also going to be running a Summer Variant event in Gloucester this August. With a host of a great small press creators on hand, all in the name of a good cause, and set in a stunning location we couldn’t help but sign up to exhibit there! But what and who else can you see in Blackfriars Priory on Sunday 20th August.

In our continued search to bring you the best comics focused UK conventions and festivals, we chat to Goons of the Galaxy creator (and The Pull List contributor) Marc Jackson about the up coming MACC-POW! – a comics art festival, coming Macclesfield on July 1st.  We find out why this little convention based in the north of England is managing to stand out from the crowd!

With a host of great comic events coming our way this summer we take a look at a few of our favourites. We start out with the Cardiff Independent Comic Expo which will be taking place at Cardif Masonic Hall on Saturday July 8th and features a fantastic mix of name guests and indie and small press superstars!

Leamington Comic Con Logo 2015For our second stint behind a convention table we were lucky enough to get a spot at Leamington Comic Con 2017. We’d been to the previous two as a punter and loved the passion that Dan and the team had put into the event, so we knew it would be another really enjoyable day with the emphasis on comics not all that other nonsense.

Back after an 18 month hiatus, Leamington Comic Con returned to the UK convention calendar with a new venue and a line up promising, comics, cosplay and plenty of fun for all the family. Having finally recovered from last week’s MCM Birmingham, our roving reporter Olly MacNamee broke out his press pass to give us all the news from this year’s event.

This month sees the return of the excellent Leamington Comic Con to the UK calendar on Saturday 25th March at the Royal Spa Centre. With an event that is set to feature big name guests from DC and Marvel, such as Chris Wildgoose and Marc Laming, as well as the best of the small press scene (including Pipedream Comics who will be bringing the Indie Showcase edition of The Pull List), as well as a Cosplay Catwalk and more, it’s a welcome return to one of our favourite cons of the year!
