We’re keen to hear if you’d like to review our graphic novel coming out from Markosia in April?
Contraband was written by myself and illustrated by Phil Elliott and is set in London in the early noughties – the beginning of “influencers” when social-sharing converged with video phone technology. The story goes a bit like this:
When hackers shift a social app’s control to each top-ranked influencer, a citizen journalist’s caught between the app’s ruthless entrepreneur, a crusading female activist and the violent chaos of everyone chasing the money and fame of being #1.
His journey leads him into a voyeur underground where profit-hungry youths prowl city streets secretly inciting, staging and filming violent events to satisfy society’s demand for sensational content…
