Preview: Porcelain: Ivory Tower from Improper Books coming Summer 2017
One of our most anticipated books of 2017, is set to be the follow up to 2015’s outstanding Porcelain: Bone China from Improper Books. Set to be released next summer, Benjamin Read and Chris Wildgoose’s Porcelain: Ivory Tower will pick up the story of Lady 10 years after the events of Bone China and will see Lady become a Mother. But if you can’t wait until next year to see what’s in store, you can check out a fantastic 12 page preview which you can find here.
For those of you who might be new to Porcelain, here’s what the accompanying press release told us:
Written by Benjamin Read, illustrated by Chris Wildgoose, coloured by André May, and lettered by Jim Campbell, PORCELAIN: Ivory Tower sees another decade passing, and Lady becoming Mother. Hidden behind the high walls of her tower, cut-off from the world, she has sacrificed everything to keep her Children safe.
Set within a world that’s a magical echo of our own, Ivory Tower is the story of Mother, a revolutionary, who must overcome ruthless enemies and the dark secrets of her past to carve a new future for all her Children.
Released to wide critical acclaim amongst readers, fellow creators, and the comic press, PORCELAIN: A Gothic Fairy Tale and PORCELAIN: Bone China have gone on to be translated and published in France by Éditions Delcourt.
The UK indie release of PORCELAIN: Ivory Tower is scheduled for Summer 2017, and will be followed by a wider international release later in the same year.”
Needless to say we can’t wait for next summer after seeing those incredible preview pages!
