Bristol Comics Expo returns with great guests, a small press spotlight and new location!
After a 2 year hiatus, Bristol Comic Expo returns to the Double Tree by Hilton on Saturday 6th August 2016, for a special showcase event with big name comic guests, a small press spotlight, expo exclusives from creators and much more! Now being run by the team behind the excellent Cardiff Independent Comics Expo we have high hopes for this year’s event and so take a look at what will be happening at this year’s jam packed event!
After a rather underwhelming event at the Future Inns in 2013, the Bristol Comics Expo 2016 is back and will be held on Saturday August 6th, returning to the home of the original Bristol Expo – the former Ramada or the Double Tree by Hilton as it is now!
The guest list this year is set to feature John M Burns (Modesty Blaise, Judge Dredd) as Guest of Honour, plus Lee Garbett (Loki: Agent of Asgard), Alan Davis (Captain Britain), Lee Carter (Rogue Trooper), Lew Stringer (The Beano), Paul Grist (Jack Staff) and Rob Williams (Star Wars, Judge Dredd) who will be signing his Suicide Squad #1 at the show!
(There will also be a tie-in with the local cinema to coincide with the release of the Suicide Squad movie)
There will also be a host of small press creators like Time Bomb Comics, Joe Glass and Gavin Mitchell with The Pride and Stiffs, Hellbound Media, Psychedelic Journal of Time Travel, Swansea Comic Collective, Lloyd and the Bear’s Gibson, Scar Comics, Jammy Scribbler, Dead Star Publishing, the always entertaining Close 2 Immortality gang, Simon Wyatt, Angry Candy Comics, Chris Baker, Fly Comics, John Scrivens, Torsobear publisher Toyburg Press, Evil Kat Studios, Pete Rogers and Disconnected Press. Plus many more!
Those offering convention exclusives, include Alan Davis and Lee Carter who will be producing Expo Exclusive prints, and from the small press world, David Broughton will be releasing Shaman Kane #3 as well Vince Hunt who will be releasing the Red Mask From Mars #3 as well as appearing with some (or all) of his Awesome Comics Podcast cohorts!
