News: Read Walking Dead and Saga on your Android tablet with the debut of Image Comics on Google Play
Although we focus on digital comics for the iPad and iPhone here at Pipedream Comics, we’re always interested to hear about new portals for digital comics. Well today, hit series like Saga and the Walking Dead will be available on the Android tablet for the first time with the debut of Image Comics on Google Play!
Home to hit titles like Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead, Brian K Vaughan’s Saga and Rob Guillory’s Chew, Image Comics have revealed their mission to bring comics to readers around the world with the news that single issues and collections are now available on the Google Play platform for Android tablets.
“It’s exciting to bring digital versions of Image Comics titles to the Google Play Store,” said Eric Stephenson, Publisher at Image Comics. “Our philosophy toward digital content is expanding as the market evolves and grows, and this is just one of many steps we’re taking as we continue to move into the future.”
Image Comics is dedicated to providing digital choices to its readers and making comics and graphic novels available wherever they may want to read them. Thanks to the innovative reading experience provided by Google Play Books, comics fans on Android devices such as Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, one of the fastest growing customer groups, will be able to read and enjoy their digital comics all within the Google Play ecosystem, as soon as they are released in print.
To celebrate the launch of titles available on Google Play, Image Comics is offering the first issues of the popular The Walking Dead, Saga, Chew, Invincible, and Super Dinosaur series for free to Google Play customers.
The addition of Google Play expands the digital offerings of Image Comics, which also include Comixology, Apple iBooks, Amazon Kindle, and DRM-Free direct downloads available on the Image Comics website at imagecomics.com.
