“Digital lends itself to short form, episodic, tactile, visual reading – in short comics!” Part 2 of our exclusive interview with Madefire’s Ben Wolstenholme
Finally, 2012 was a banner year for Madefire, what were your highlights and what can we expect in 2013 – more titles, more contributors, more frequency, more innovation or just more great comics?!
BW: 2012 was a blur! but a great one – thank you! Well – you should expect many things from Madefire in 2013!
Hopefully you caught our recent partnership with deviantART where we’re integrating our Motion Book Tool into that amazing creative community – and where we’ve launched a Motion Books category. The Madefire Motion Books are available right now on dA here. So you can expect individual creators and team collaborating in deviantART and developing Motion Books which will be fascinating to see as the year rolls on. A place for new myths to be born…
You can expect more innovation of the reading experience as we strive to keep pushing the boundary of reading – and to share those tools with creators all over the world.
You can expect the Madefire Studio to continue to release exclusive original Motion Book Episodes from some of the most established creators around – including Mike Carey, Bill Sienkiewicz, Simon Bisley, Gary Gianni, – oh and Liam and Dave – I could go on!
And I should mention you can expect MONO to find the elusive Old Curiosity Shop – along with a few surprises :).
And last but certainly not least, you can expect some of the biggest names and titles in the publishing world to be making Motion Books
…How about that for a set of promises to keep 🙂 So please, watch this space. It won’t be dull!
If you like what you’ve read be sure to download the Madefire app for free here and check out all their amazing Motion Books – especially MONO! And for more info on Madefire visit their website or the Madefire section of DeviantART
