How far back into Dredds past are you going with Judge Dredd: Year One, and how far back do you think you could go with this or another series?
MS: It’s set in 2080, a year after Dredd’s graduation from the Academy of Law. We see a flashback to 2070, when Dredd was just a cadet, but the point of Year One is Dredd’s first year on the streets as a full Judge. If you wanted to see Dredd as a cadet, that’s a whole other story – or you could just read Origins by John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra, which is on sale now as a trade collection!
