Archer Coe from Oni Press has already debuted on ComiXology!
Ladies and gentlemen, this is no mental trickery! Oni Press’s Archer Coe And The Thousand Natural Shocks by Jamie S. Rich And Dan Christensen is the latest title to make its digital debut early as it appears on ComiXology this week.
Beginning today, Archer Coe will be released every Tuesday and Thursday in 69p/99¢ chapters leading up to the original graphic novel’s physical release in June.
As even the keenest eyes for trickery can see below, Rich and Christensen’s stylish tale of a famed mentalist caught in a web of murder and deceit has already garnered heaps of advance praise.
“Settling in the uncanny valley between Fantômas and The Spirit, Archer Coe is a stunning who-done-it that seamlessly becomes a kaleidoscopic ‘Who am I?’ tale. I read it once, thinking I knew what would happen, then twice, knowing everything I knew was wrong, the eggshell of my brain having been pierced and the hope within having been mysteriously restored.”
Glen David Gold, author of Carter Beats the Devil
“Noir, hypnotism, murder, twists, double crosses, a femme fatale, masked men, and talking alley cats! Archer Coe, you reached right into the gaping hole in my chest, and stole my heart.”
Chelsea Cain, author of the New York Times bestselling Kill You Twice andLet You Go.
“Archer Coe, The Mind’s Arrow is a proto-pulp character as if imagined by David Lynch. Jamie Rich’s noir romanticism and Dan Christensen’s deceptive ligne claire style deliver a tale where reality bends across memory to reveal the hypnotic truth in a story that’s both delightfully classic and boldly fresh.”
Matt Wagner, creator of Mage and Grendel
“Absolutely terrific.”
David Lloyd, illustrator of V for Vendetta and Hellblazer
“It’s the kind of book where, once I’m done and know what happens, I immediately re-read it to see all the author’s tricks and hints.”
Johanna Draper Carlson, Comics Worth Reading
