New European digital comics publisher Europe Comics debuts!
With European comics now all over ComiXology thanks to their partnership with Delcourt, the doors have been flung open for other Euro publishers to get in on the digital comics revolution. The latest group to bring their books to a worldwide digital audience are the all digital and all European graphic novel initiative, Europe Comics who launched a new website with 10 new titles this week.
This launch closes a countdown campaign ’33 Days to Europe Comics’ that opened at the New York Comic Con, passed by the Frankfurt Book Fair and saw the release of nine special pre-launch titles.
The titles released this week (November 10th) include vampire series Raptors, by star duo Dufaux and Marini; Larcenet’s slice of life masterpiece Ordinary Victories, suspense-packed Alter Ego (Lapière, Renders, Reynès) and Russian Tsarist semi-fictional Death to the Tsar (Nury, Robin). Adding even more variety to the Europe Comics catalog are the hilarious everyday philosophical dilemmas of Pico Bogue (Dormal, Roques), the Texan drug-baron hunter Tyler Cross (Nury, Brûno), the exhilarating and absurd undertakings of Kinky & Cosy (Nix) and the ruthless Ancient Roman intrigues of Murena (Dufaux, Delaby).
This first selection of titles comes from the catalogs of French and Belgian publishers Dargaud, Dupuis and Le Lombard. A second wave of releases, coming on November 25th, will include the futuristic saga Keepers of Lost Time (Marić, Radovanović) from Serbian publisher Darkwood, Spanish cyberspace thriller Bitcoin (Preukschat, Busquet, Ares) from Dibbuks and Flemish children’s classic Jeremy (Nys), from Ballon Media.
