Molly DangerMolly Danger from Jamal ‘Supergirl’ Igle and Action Lab Comics is one of our favourite new titles in ComiXology’s Guided View section. Mixing the action-packed world of superheroes and giant robots with a coming of age story of a girl who is trying to deal with fame, celebrity and being a 10 year old superhero who has been saving the city of Coopersville for over 20 years! It’s a really refreshing and original read in a saturated market which does a great job of maximising the world of Guided View. It’s also a digital exclusive, funded by Kickstarter, which makes it right up our street, so we contacted creator Jamal Igle to discover more about Molly-world!

Joe MartinoJoe Martino’s The Mighty Titan is a Kickstarter funded superhero spectacular that uses the emotive issue of cancer to make his tales of heroes and villains resonate with a real emotional core.  Fresh from the success of issue 1 which we reviewed back in May, issue 2 was successfully funded in just 30 hours and is set to hit the newsstands in August. Keen to find out the secret to crowd sourced comics we got in touch with Joe to ask him all about it and also to give us his own take on the fascinating and very personal journey that brought us The Mighty Titan

MightyTitan1This Kickstarter funded comic from writer Joe Martino takes the emotive subject of cancer and uses it as one of the central premises for a superhero adventure. This first issue of a 5 issue mini series was successfully funded last year and is now available via Martinos’ website, and may sound like a glib or insensitive way to treat such a serious subject, but Martino uses his own experiences as a way to give his book a smart and emotive central core, without  wallowing in bleak self-analysis. This makes for a title that should appeal to those affected by cancer and those just in need of an entertaining read and as such is well worth checking out.
