Dark Horse and SequentialLiving up to their elusive moniker Dark Horse Comics, the publisher of Hellboy and Sin City, have previously only made their digital titles available from the Dark Horse Digital Comics app and online store. However today that has changed, with the announcement that Dark Horse digital comics and graphic novels will be included in the Sequential iPad app, with the first batch of titles including Hellboy and The Fifth Beatle now available.

Madefire Hellboy in hellHellboy and Madefire are taking over here at Pipedream Comics today! As well as our fantastic first look at this great new team up, and our in-depth review of the first issue, we’ve caught up with Madefire CEO and co-founder Ben Wolstenholme to find out more about how the exciting team up between the motion book publisher and Dark Horse Comics came about, and what it means for the future of Madefire!

With a new Hellboy in Hell motion book launching via their app this week, Madefire have added to their library the most high profile character yet. But will this latest motion book offering see them descend into a fiery pit like their lead character or rise to the digital heavens?

We’re excited to reveal that the latest title to get the Motion Book treatment from Madefire is Mike Mignola’s Hellboy In Hell. The Madefire Hellboy In Hell motion book will follow in the footsteps of Star Trek, Transformers and My Little Pony, with story and art from creator Mike Mignola. We’re hoping that this is the first of many new titles from this exciting team-up between Madefire and Dark Horse Comics!

Hellboy convention sketch by Duncan FegredoIt’s always great to see the fantastic artwork people can create on the iPad using just their fingers and a generous dose of creative flair. But it’s even better to see what comic professionals can rustle up when not working on their latest masterpiece. Last month I found this brilliant iPad painting by Hellboy artist Duncan Fegredo on the WhatNot blog and was just blown away. I’ve been a huge fan of Duncan’s for as long as he has been drawing Hellboy for Dark Horse and so knew I had to get in touch with him to ask him more about his experience of painting on the iPad and also, his thoughts on drawing the devil’s son.
