We’re a bit behind on our Kickstarter coverage, but we were spurred into action when news about the stunning looking Cadavers 1: Doppelganger landed in our Inbox. You wouldn’t expect the words ‘stunning’ and ‘cadavers’ to be used in the same sentence, but Matt Hardy and Ed Bentley’s tale of a group of undead supernatural characters attempting to assimilate into the real world looks absolutely superb and when you dig deeper you discover a smart and intriguing concept for a book that feels like it could have tons of potential. This campaign is for the first of five issues, that are set to focus on each character per issue. Hardy’s story mixes a motley bunch of supernatural misfits with classic thriller tropes, while Bentley’s artwork has an incredibly slick finish to it that is reminiscent of classic Joe Madureira (which is always a favourite). Unlike many other pretenders who attempt to mimic that style, fortunately Cadavers has a really high level of polish to it that makes this whole series look like a real cut above your average indie fare and definitely one to watch!
