icoty2016Compiling our list of the best indie comics of 2016 has not been an easy task! There have been so many amazing books that narrowing it down to just 50 great titles was tough, let alone picking our 10 favourite. However after all the bickering and squabbling among the Pipedream team we have narrowed it down the 10 best, and what a collection we have! But now it’s up to you! Just as we do with our Digital Comic of the Year award, we are going to leave it up to you to pick a winner.
You can vote for the Indie Comic of the Year 2016 here! (Polling ends at midnight on January 5th!)

Turncoat1“So how do I kill him?” is the question posed by superhero hitman Duke at the beginning of each chapter of superhero webcomic Turncoat. Unfortunately Duke is not quite as heroic as the people he is sent to assassinate (even Bug Boy!) yet he still manages to do the job, albeit badly! We catch up with Turncoat writer Ryan O’Sullivan and artist Plaid Klaus to find out why humour is so important in their comics and why lead character Duke doesn’t get all the best lines.

indie-round-upOur latest round-up of the best digital index comics features: politics, religion and reality TV stars in Ned Hartley’s Anti Gods; clueless cops in a small town with Tally Burtram’s Bajo Mano; Make Garley’s immortal retro killing machine the Samurai Slasher; and superhero hitman webcomic Turncoat from Ryan O’Sillivan and Plaid Kraus.
