As huge fans of Chris Baldie’s Space Captain series (thanks to its perfect blend of emotive story telling, stunning art and awesome mustachioed hero) we very excited to discover Chris was producing a new series – I Rolled A One – this time set in the world of table top role-playing games. We warm up our 20 sided dice in anticipation of some epic questing!

The new issue of indie comics fanzine The Pull List is out now for just £0.99 from our digital store!

This issue we look at the world of crowd-funding with our Kickstarter Secrets special! Kickstarter has become an essential part of the indie comics scene, so to find out more about how our favourite creators make the most of the crowd-funding platform we talk to a panel of experts to find out their essential secrets.

We also talk to Aussie King of Kickstarter Ryan K Lindsay about his new all-ages book Ink Island, Chris Baldie about his moustachioed hero Space Captain, and Tom Ward about the gothic world of Merrick: The Sensational Elephantman.

We also have reviews of the best new indie and small press comics, previews of up and coming titles in our gallery, and show reports from True Believers and Leamington Comic Convention.

Space Captain (Captain of Space) blasted its way on to our top 10 list of 2016 thanks to its irreverent charm and it’s all-action, moustachioed hero. With a new issue  launching on Kickstarter this week, we took the opportunity to have a chat with artist Chris Baldie to find out the secrets of the last man in the universe, and discover why he has such an awesome tash!

icoty2016Compiling our list of the best indie comics of 2016 has not been an easy task! There have been so many amazing books that narrowing it down to just 50 great titles was tough, let alone picking our 10 favourite. However after all the bickering and squabbling among the Pipedream team we have narrowed it down the 10 best, and what a collection we have! But now it’s up to you! Just as we do with our Digital Comic of the Year award, we are going to leave it up to you to pick a winner.
You can vote for the Indie Comic of the Year 2016 here! (Polling ends at midnight on January 5th!)

space-captain-1Space Captain is one of those rare things in indie comics – a title that seems to appear perfectly realized from the very beginning and gets better and better with every issue. There’s no muddled debut full of extraneous exposition or awkward character development as the writer and artist attempts to find their voice. Instead, like its hero, it appears from the ice fully rounded, ready for action and sporting an excellent moustache!
