A trip to a comic convention always brings a whole treasure trove of new comics. Some by writers and artists already established on the circuit while others by creators who are a little more new to the game. Today we focus on one of the later with Untold, an unnerving horror title by Daniel Farrand, Johannes Vick and the rest of their creative team, Untold Productions. Will this comic be a treat or will it scare the readers away?

In the last year, creator Matt Garvey has exploded on to the UK small press scene to produce some very eclectic and enjoyable comics, in particular his breakout title Chunks. Now he moves away from prior genres to create sci-fi thriller Transfer with artist Eder Messiah and we’ve been given a fantastic early look. But will this be another Chunks-like success, or will Transfer end up being somewhat null and void?
If you like your reads at the artier end of the comics spectrum – and live outside the M25 and so don’t get to go to events like LCAF – then the Bristol Comics and Zine Fair is a perfect day out for you. Now in it’s sixth year the event is held in the old fire station in the city centre, and features a fantastic range of genuine small press talents, from ‘names’ like Avery Hill and Mike Medaglia, to up and coming artists and zine makers from all over the country, not just the West Country.

Produced by Pete Genepool and Jim McCulloch, the brains behind the online indie comic store of the same name, Comichaus collects together exclusive stories from some of the UK indie scenes most exciting names into a new ongoing monthly black and white series.
Geis – pronounced Gesh – is a Gallic word meaning curse or taboo and this new book from Nobrow Press is anything but cursed! It sees a group of nobles compete to be chief of their town after a sorceress curses the will of their chief and mixes a European fairytale feel with the high production values that Nobrow have made their signature. We catch up with creator Alexis Deacon to find out the real secrets behind this delightfully dark new graphic novel and it’s cursed name.
