What do you get if you cross nerds, ninjas and the 1980s – why Satan Ninja 198X of course?! Adam Dravian and Jessica Safron’s 80s-inspired webcomic of rad-ness was one of our favourite discoveries of 2015 and so we had to talk to them about the inspiration for this amazing series – and it truly is an epic! We find out about Adam’s rock star past, discover Jessica’s favourite 80s metal albums and get the answer to why blood and boobs are OK to put into a webcomic!
Satan Ninja 198X
Thanks to the rise of digital comics the indie and small press world is flourishing and every month we round-up the best indie digital comics available via apps like Sequential, as well looking at online webcomics and those available via small press publisher’s websites. It wasn’t easy to choose just 10 so let us know which you’d have preferred to see, but here are our favourite indie digital comics from 2015.
We take a look at some more great digital indie comics including: 90s cyberpunk inspired web comic Drugs and Wires; Tillie Walden’s haunting and beautiful teenage love story, I Love This Part; Laura Trinder’s nocturnal mail man and his misadventures in The Night Post; and 80s video game inspired lunacy in the form of Satan Ninja 198X.
