While best known for their anthology Papercuts and Inkstains, the guys at Madius Comics are bringing out more and more character-centric comics; from creepy horror Corsair to new All-Ages comic Bun (which our interview about here). However, perhaps the new star of the Madius show is salty sea dog Griff Gristle, who returns for more high-seas, monster hunting hijinks in his second issue, The Siren’s Song.

Madius Comics have made a name for themselves with a unique blend of dark horror and side-splitting comedy. But for his first solo writing job Madius writer Mike Sambrook has come up with a story that’s just a little bit different – Bun, the tale of a giant rabbit making his way in the city! We catch up with Mike ahead of the launch at Thought Bubble to find out what’s the story behind this new creation, why he wanted to tell an all ages tale and what it’s like flying solo.

Those shy and retiring chaps from Madius Comics are back with a new Kickstarter, collecting together the first 7 issues of their 6-part anthology Papercuts and Inkstains. So what can we expect in the collection of their superb anthology? Well, funny you should ask as writer Rob Jones and Mike Sambrook are always up for a chat and once we got them started it was tough to get them to stop as they give us the lowdown on everything we wanted to know about the world of Madius Comics! (And a few things we didn’t!)

Griff GristleWith their anthology series Papercuts and Inkstains going from strength to strength, Madius Comics has decided to add another single story adventure to their stable with Griff Gristle – an elderly sailor with a very supernatural occupation/hobby. However, will this be yet another success for the publisher or will this title sink to the bottom of the sea of small press comics?

MADIUS-Twitter-Logo-600x550One of the more shy and retiring groups of comic creators on the UK independent scene right now are Robin Jones and Mike Sambrook from Madius Comics – home to Papercuts and Inkstains and the Profits of Doom. Not ones to shout about their new books all over social or constantly mention their up coming Kickstarter Griff Gristle, we thought we should give these timid young chaps the opportunity to tell the world about their fine array of comics!
