eisner-awards1The nominations for this year’s Eisner Awards 2015 have been announced and it is another strong showing for the world of digital comics. Paul Tobin and Collette Coover’s Bandette received nominations for best continuing series, as well as featuring in the Best Digital/Web Comic category (which they won in 2013), while Brian K Vaughan’s ‘other book’ The Private Eye, which he writes with Marcos Martin for their Panel Syndicate publishing venture is up for best limited series as well as best digital/web comic.

Digital-Comic-of-the-Year-2014It’s been another amazing year for digital comics, with new publishers and titles released every week, not to mention some old favourites going from strength to strength too. All this has made picking our top 10 digital comics of 2014 a real challenge, but we’ve finally narrowed it down and we hope you agree with the ones we have picked! Failing Sky 1010 01The latest in our series of interviews with the nominees for the 2014 Best Digital/Web Comic Eisner Award sees us catch up with the truly unique Dax Tran-Caffee. The brains behind the truly innovative Failing Sky web comic that takes the traditional rules of linear story-telling and throws them out of the window in order to make up a whole new structure and approach to telling a story. With pages that scroll up, down, left, right and even leap to completely different chapters it’s a truly special series that is unlike anything else out there (plus it’s all hand drawn in paper and pencil!) so we were keen to catch up with Dax and discover the secrets to this avant-garde comics adventure.
