Monkeybrain Comics have announced the impending release of a truly unique product. On September 18th they’ll be releasing Inkshot, an anthology of Brazilian comics edited by Hector Lima and showcasing the best and brightest new comic creators from Brazil, introducing many of them to readers in the United States and elsewhere for the first time.
“The Inkshot anthology is a great opportunity to get to know what’s happening today in Brazilian Comics,” explained anthologist Hector Lima. “The more than 40 stories form a rich and varied panorama of styles and genres, showing that the ‘country of the future’ is an erupting creative volcano – exploding with ink lava. It was a job for Chris Roberson and Allison Baker, explorers of the New, to make this find public through Monkeybrain Comics.”
“I love comics of all types, and I’m always on the lookout for something new,” said Monkeybrain Comics co-founder Chris Roberson. “Dan Goldman, the writer and artist of the Monkeybrain title Red Light Properties, was until recently living in Brazil, and he was the one who first introduced Hector Lima to us. When Hector told us that he was looking for a home for an anthology of stories by Brazilian comics creators, we were already intrigued, but when I read the first few stories that he sent over, and saw the quality on offer, I knew that we had to add it to the Monkeybrain lineup.”
Inkshot is a 268 page anthology featuring more than 40 individual stories, and will be available exclusively via ComiXology for £6.99/$8.99 on September 18th and is currently available for pre-order here
